The Perspective of Living with Cancer
For my second project, I was to use the skill PERSPECTIVE in my work created. So I decided to make a video interview about my step Dad and his battle with cancer. This past year of 2018, he was diagnosed with Stage 4 Oral cancer. It was one of the toughest battles I witnessed firsthand. However, it wasn't the same experience for me as it was for him. In conclusion, this project let me become more aware of how his perspective varied from my own and others.
In order to gain a better visual of Jason's battle, I decided to create a video including a conducted interview, and a video letter slideshow at the end.
ENGLISH
For my English piece, I wanted to incorporate the script for my interview with Jason. It wasn't too difficult finding a template as it was thinking of questions that conveyed what I wanted shared to get the best use of the skill (perspective). I am really proud of the questions I came up with in my final script, and I am glad they fit cohesively with one another. Jason told me that answering the questions was something he needed to do that he didn't think he needed. It helped him release some inner battles and write his feelings. For the final video, I only shared 4 focused questions that really got the initial perspective needed.
ART
In my art, I finalized on making a video. I put all my work into iMovie and edited off of there. I loved getting to make the video letter at the end of the project because it really showed how much Jason's perspective affected my own. It was such a heartfelt piece that I was happy I could do and add in. In all the video is under 5 minutes, but it really does spark the initial skill of perspective.
